THE GOCO BOARD

Great Outdoors Colorado Board members are appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Colorado State Senate. The structure of the 17-member board is designed to provide representation to the entire state based on population.

	▪	Two members from each of Colorado’s seven congressional districts serve.
	▪	The executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and
	▪	A representative from the Colorado Board of Parks and Outdoor Recreation and from
	▪	The wildlife Commission are members.
	▪	No two members from one congressional district can be from the same political party.
	▪	One member of the Board must represent agricultural interests.
	▪	Two members must live west of the Continental Divide.
