Jahi Simbai (U)
Jahi is Senior Manager, Workforce Development and University Partnerships in Human Resources at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). His primary work focuses on K-12 education and outreach, internships, postdoctoral engagement, and partnering with the academic community. Prior to NLR, Jahi was the Assistant Dean, Office of Graduate Studies at Colorado School of Mines. Earlier in his career, Jahi worked as a structural analyst for Ball Aerospace. Jahi holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Jahi is married to Alvina Vasquez and they have a young son. Additionally, they try to manage their three rescue dogs, Sneaker, Taos, and Zoomie. Jahi is a musician, performing as Providence “The Verse,” lead MC for the Denver-based electro/hip-hop band Reverb and The Verse. He is an avid reader and loves to play the piano, shoot hoops, and travel.
