Okay, where did summer go?! Fortunately, there's a silver lining for students at three schools - they'll have new playgrounds to enjoy on their first day back. We also had three land conservation properties close (just like buying a house...there's a lot to do after you committ the funding!) and saw the completion of flood recovery, habitat restoration, and trail construction projects. Keep scrolling (or play around in the new interactive map feature!) to see what $1.5 million in Colorado Lottery revenues look like:
Where Do You GOCO
Summer keeps everyone busy with plenty of outdoor activities, and GOCO grantees are no exception! They've been hard at work investing more than $3.6 million in GOCO funding this month, with six projects wrapping up in June.
Nearly a dozen GOCO-funded projects were finished this spring, from land conservation in the most northwestern corner of the state to the completion of major "legacy" projects along the Front Range. Keep scrolling to see what our grantees got done with over $2.4 million in GOCO grants.
A whopping $9 million in GOCO projects finished in April, with a majority coming from our partners at Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). GOCO invests $30 million every year in programs at CPW. Keep in mind that just because they’ve “closed” in April doesn’t mean CPW isn’t still hard at work maintaining state parks and trails, helping wildlife, and making your experience in the outdoors great.
This latest edition of Where Do You GOCO is running a little late - please excuse our tardiness! Nearly 30 projects closed in March, including trail work, park improvements, master plans, and wildlife habitat conservation.
GOCO made our February leap day really count, with seven exciting projects closing this month! We’re most excited about this batch of projects because they show off the wide variety of things GOCO funds. From planning grants and studies to discover why kids aren’t getting outside, to exercise parks and the state’s most infamous (and grueling) trail, we had it all in February!
There’s a lot of fanfare around being awarded a grant, but what happens after the ceremonial checks are presented, the reporters have published their articles, and the interviews are over? Our grantees get down to business! Each month, we’re bringing you a round-up of recently finished GOCO projects.
