Josh Tenneson

Deputy Director

Josh is a lifelong Coloradoan who rejoined Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) in 2019, after previously working at GOCO from 2011 to 2015. A two-time University of Colorado graduate, he holds a B.A. in Political Science and a Juris Doctorate.

Josh brings deep experience in land conservation, public open space, and outdoor recreation, having served as Programs Director at Palmer Land Trust, Open Space Program Manager at GOCO, and Grants & Acquisitions Manager for Arapahoe County Open Space. Over the course of his career, he has helped complete more than 150 private conservation, public open space, and public park transactions across Colorado.

He previously served on the Conservation Easement Oversight Commission and currently sits on nonprofit boards focused on land conservation, recreation, and environmental education. Josh is passionate about protecting Colorado’s landscapes and expanding equitable, meaningful opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors.
