Sammie Trotter is GOCO's Southeast Colorado Program Officer. Since joining the team in 2021, she has partnered with communities across eastern and southeast Colorado to advance locally led investments in conservation, outdoor recreation, and stewardship—strengthening community vitality and supporting long-term, place-based priorities. She helps lead GOCO’s Conservation Service Corps program, supporting youth workforce development and high-impact stewardship projects through strong partnerships with corps, land managers, and local governments.

Previously, Sammie served as Executive Director of the Bent County Development Foundation, where she led county- and region-wide economic development efforts across rural Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with emphases in Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship, and brings more than 20 years of experience supporting community-driven initiatives.

Sammie was born and raised in the Lower Arkansas Valley, has lived and worked across Colorado, including Swink, Lamar, La Junta, Grand Junction, Loma, Snowmass Village, Carbondale, and Rocky Ford, and now lives in Colorado Springs. These experiences have shaped her commitment to equitable access, outdoor stewardship, and helping partners navigate challenges and opportunities. Outside of work, Sammie homeschools her son and enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family.
