Board Members
About the GOCO Board
Our board members are all volunteers who share a passion for Colorado’s great outdoors. Appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Colorado State Senate, each member may serve up to two four-year terms. Board members approve GOCO’s financial plans, grant programs, and all grant awards.
To best represent the interests of our entire state, our 19-member board of trustees is designed so that:
- Two members from each of Colorado’s eight congressional districts serve.
- No two members from one congressional district are from the same political party.
- One member of the board represents agricultural interests.
- Two members live west of the Continental Divide.
- The executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and two representatives from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission are members.
